Auckland==>Hamilton - 9/10/2023
Hey y'all, I'll keep this one short because I get shipped out to Hamilton in like 30 minutes. There were A TON of really powerful spiritual experiences this week but I feel like I really need to share this poem my teacher wrote and read to us. He wrote this when he returned home from his mission and was dealing with some mental health issues, so hopefully it touches y'all's hearts like it did mine...
"To the world you look fine
But In reality you're at constant war with your mind
You hide it with a smile by wearing the latest style, and your soft spoken voice makes it seem there's no trial.
The room gets darker as your thoughts change to black,
Now you feel the world around you is starting to crumble and crack.
You reach out your hand as to say "I need you"
But you're greeted with darkness, now what do you do?
You're sinking lower and lower and feel theres no escape
Till a hero comes around, no sound does He make.
His presence of light is enough to set you free,
You think "who can do such a thing for someone like me?"
As you look upon his face, He's now taken your place.
Down on His knees, suffering every pain and agony,
You see your little problem pass as He begins to bleed.
You think "oh no" and take a step closer, but He stops you on your way.
With the pain He endures He looks at you and says,
"Through thick and thin, joy or pain I will be here for you, for I have suffered the same.
When you are your lowest and feel you are alone,
Fear not My Brother, for this reason I atoned.
These prints on my hands, my feet and my side,
show forth my love for you, the reason I died.
I won't leave you comfortless, I will come to you everytime,
And if you can't find me, just know I will send you a guide.
Fear not I am with thee Oh be not dismayed For I am your brother and I will come to your aid."
You wake from your sleep and realize it was a dream
Then look at a photo on your wall and notice that same tree.
Down on His knees in pain and agony, you recognize His face and a familiar voice says "That is Me"
